Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley California

We are singularly focused on crafting Cabernet Sauvignon from the Howell Mountain appellation of Napa Valley.

Through our experience, we have learned that the best wines come from great vineyard sites and are created through minimal intervention and maximum attention. We craft our wines on a human scale, in very small lots and steward what nature provides so that the resulting wine is a true reflection of time and place. We feel this is the best way to truly represent each vintage.

Thank you for discovering us and supporting artisan winemakers like ourself.

2012 Beatty Ranch Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Ranging between 1700 & 1800 feet in elevation, the 32 acre Beatty Ranch sits above the fog and is at the heart of the Howell Mountain appellation. So much so that the Howell Mountain AVA came to be with the help of others and topographic maps of the area spread on Mr. Beatty's dining table. The vineyard has a long history dating back to the 1880's when William Keyes first began to establish vineyards on Howell Mountain. Our block was planted on shallow, volcanic Aiken soils over 40 years ago making these some of the oldest cabernet sauvignon vines on Howell Mountain.

2013 Beatty Ranch Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2013 vintage will go down in history as one of Napa Valley's finest. Budbreak arrived early with a warm and dry spring which made for uniform growth in the vineyard. There were no significant heat spikes as we enjoyed near perfect weather of warm days and cool nights. The ideal spring conditions made for optimal fruit set and consistent temperatures made for an ideal growing season. California's drought eliminated the potential threats of a late season rain. The lack of water made for small berries which provided a concentration and depth to the flavor of the fruit which makes 2013 so special.

2014 Beatty Ranch Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

What a streak. The 2014 vintage is the third straight exceptional vintage for Napa Valley and Howell Mountain. Budbreak arrived around the first of April which began a year of steady, consistent weather without heat spikes. The warm days and cool nights allowed the fruit to ripen steadily while preserving a balance of sweetness and acidity. The ideal spring conditions made for optimal fruit set and the consistent temperatures made for another ideal growing season. This vintage will be remembered for one event before harvest - the magnitude 6.0 South Napa Earthquake on August 24th. which caused a bit of damage in the area.
